“From the moment I laid eyes on her, I knew her life, albeit brief, would lead to something incredible and meaningful”.

On the 22nd of May this year, Jade Redmond was six months pregnant with her little girl Harper Rose. Sadly at 4.44am, Harper passed away.

Jade and her husband Craig while mourning the loss of Harper, the second baby they have lost, channeled their energy and grief into fundraising for a star on our baby star wall. By August this year, Harper’s Star fundraising page had raised over $5,500 and was flooded with messages of love.

In November, after months of lockdown, Jade and Craig were able to visit The Royal and place Harper’s star on the wall. Such a special moment that we felt privileged to be part of.

“Harper Rose will always be the brightest star in our lives. Physically, we ache for her every single day, but in spirit we know she is destined to do incredible things.” Jade and Craig want Harper’s star to support future families that attend The Royal Hospital for Women so they can receive the same incredible care that they experience.

Funds raised will go towards equipment and research that may help families navigating similar tragedies.
