I'm fundraising for The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation
Autumn’s First Birthday
Autumn Ellen Carter was born on the 24th April 2018 at 31 weeks gestation. After a high risk and difficult pregnancy she stopped moving which resulted in an emergency C-section. Autumn was unresponsive at birth and needed cpr and ventilation. She was life flighted by the amazing team from NETS to the Royal where she would spend the next 3 weeks learning to keep herself warm and take bottle feeds - 2 of the milestones premmie babies must meet before they’re allowed to come home. The care Autumn and I both received from the amazing doctors and nurses in the Newborn Intensive Care Centre is something that will stay with me for a long time and that I’ll be forever grateful for. There were times when I seriously wondered if I would ever bring my tiny baby home but the positivity of the doctors and nurses never wavered, they knew she would thrive, and thrive she has! Although our stay was only short I would love to give something back to help families going through the same ordeal. So in honour of my little pork chop turning ONE (can you believe it!) I’m asking that instead of buying her a gift to consider making a donation to the Royal, no matter how small. Autumn says thank you ?
Happy Birthday Autumn!
