I'm running from Perth to Sydney in support of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at The Royal
Run dates: 1st of October - 5th of December 2024
Following some pregnancy complications, Michelle and Nick's beautiful daughter, Luna was born early at just 25 weeks and 4 days old.
Since her early arrival, Luna has called The Royal Hospital for Women's Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) home. Here she receives around-the-clock care from The Royal's exceptional team of clinicians.

Michelle and Nick are looking forward to being able to bring Luna home in the coming months to join big brother, Alfie.
Inspired by Luna's strength and the commitment and dedication of the NICU clinical team, Luna's grandfather, John has decided to undertake the adventure of a lifetime to raise much-needed funds for the Newborn Intensive Unit. John will be running from Perth to Sydney (nearly 4,000km) and is asking for your help to get him there.
Currently, government funding only provides the basics for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. Nearly all of the specialised equipment, programs, and research have been funded through the generosity of donors and fundraisers. Nearly 80% of the equipment in the unit, including the equipment keeping Luna alive, has been purchased through donations.
"Dad is an extremely determined and dedicated person who doesn't give up and finishes what he starts, so even though he is in his early 60s with no real prior marathon running experience I believe he will make it no matter what."
John is hoping to raise significant funds for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit to help fund purchase more state-of-the-art equipment, cutting-edge research, and life-transforming programs.
