Ultra Love for Our Baby Bobby

I'm fundraising for The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation

We would like to share with you how your kind donations will be used:

A Bobby Raiman Memorial Fund has been created that will sponsor 3 x bursaries for families to pay for the costs of a cremation. The families eligible would be those who have a loss just under 20 weeks and are ineligible for Centrelink support.  This is an issue for families who then cannot afford the dignity of farewelling their baby, such as a cremation or burial. The hospital will continue fundraising efforts to help other families in need to receive bursaries.

In addition, the Butterfly Room at the Royal Hospital for Women will have a soft renovation. This will benefit all families who experience a loss at The Royal and use the space to spend time with their baby. A plaque will be made that honours Bobby’s legacy.

In memory of our son Bobby who sadly passed away on 4th Feb 2023 at 22 weeks, I'm running the UTA 50km Ultra Marathon to raise much needed funds for the Royal Hospital for Women, where Bobby was born. Olivia and I would greatly appreciate your help.

No parent should ever wish,

To have to fundraise for reasons like this, 

But we ought to help the staff in need,

At the hospital where Bobby’s care was received,


On the 4th of Feb our Bobby was born,

Our hearts were broken, worn and torn, 

He was never able to take his first breath,

With his little mouth, so many words left unsaid,


Around us at the hospital we found, 

Sadly no more need for an ultrasound, 

We were lost and left in disbelief,

Our journey just starting in our grief,


Support was abundant with caring eyes,

Every step of the way, midwives and doctors by our side,

To help guide us through the devastating pain,

And put our broken pieces back together again,


On 13th May I’m running an ultramarathon,

To help keep alive the memories of our dear son,

And raise needed money for babies like him,

Born early, and whose hopes for survival are thin,


I’d love to raise $5000 in funds,

$100 for each kilometre I run,

So many parents and babies in poor health.

Hi everyone, 

Thanks so much for your generosity in supporting us and the hospital with your donations. You will make such a huge difference to so many families and help give those in challenging circumstances a fighting chance. We are so grateful for your support.

I thought of you all on the epic mountainous run and was so pleased to complete the 50km course in 6 hours and 30 mins - that placed me in the top 10% of finishers! It was a physical and mental challenge, but I know Bobby and all of you were there cheering me on!
