THE ROYAL TAX APPEAL

Every day
counts.
For women for better.

When Meg arrived at The Royal at 20 weeks pregnant, having lost more than three litres of blood, the team did the extraordinary. They gave her more time.
More time meant more hope. More hope meant Kelly.

MEGAN AND KELLY'S STORY

Staying pregnant was all that they focused on.

At 20 weeks, Megan suffered a massive haemorrhage at home, losing more than three litres of blood. In the middle of the night, her husband drove her to The Royal. Everyone's priority was her safety. The pregnancy felt impossible.

The Maternal Fetal Medicine team stepped in. With blood transfusions, steroids, around-the-clock monitoring and ultrasounds every couple of days, they fought for every day they could by knowing that between 22 and 24 weeks, a single day can change the outcome completely.

Megan spent the next eight weeks living on the antenatal ward. She and her husband celebrated every Wednesday and every Sunday. Day by day, they grew closer to the moment Kelly could survive.

WHERE YOUR SUPPORT GOES

Life-saving care that's possible thanks to you.

Babies under a kilo, sometimes under half a kilo, need high-tech equipment. The margin for error is very, very small.

Your donation closes that margin and gives every family the fighting chance they deserve.

Advanced Ultrasound Machines

State-of-the-art imaging allows the MFM team to detect complex conditions including placenta accreta and other very hard to diagnose conditions.

State-of-the art Humidicribs & Ventilators

80% of the equipment in the NICU has been funded by donors. Your support keeps babies breathing and gives them the best chance possible at a healthy, happy life.

The Best Care Possible

The Royal serves families from across NSW and sometimes interstate who need a level of expertise found nowhere else. Your support sustains the teams and research that make this possible.

"I hope that other women benefit from the care that The Royal is able to provide. Whether that's through fundraising, bringing money into the hospital — every single piece of equipment goes a very long way to helping families ultimately bring home their babies."
