I'm fundraising for The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation
We’ve been personally impacted by the fantastic work of the NICU team at The Royal Hospital for Women with our journey with Owen - so this is a cause close to our heart.
Both in the build-up to Owen's birth, and the days following, the teams at the MFM and NICU at Royal Womens have been exceptional and made a world of difference to us and Owen. We will be forever grateful for amazing care and expertise the team brought which markedly reduced the stress of the situation, and made sure Owen had the best possible care before and after his birth.
None of what they did would be possible without more funding for the equipment they have and the staff they have - something they do not get nearly enough of from the NSW government. Accordingly, I am inspired by, and grateful for, the work of the team to raise money for them as part of my participation in 2023 Huskisson Half Marathon.
Whilst running a Half Marathon will take a big effort (especially those that know me!!), it doesn't compare to the effort and work put in by the team at Royal Womens for Owen, and every other family that comes into their care.
