Everest Base Camp Trek Challenge 2023

Thursday 20th Apr
Hi, my name is Megan and I’m taking on the Everest Base Camp Trek challenge in October to help raise funds for the Madison Capaldi Research Fund and The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation. 


Each year The Royal cares for more than 1,000 premature and critically-ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit who require around-the-clock care and state-of-the-art medicine and equipment. 

100% of the funds raised will go to the organisation and help fund the WHEAT Trial at The Royal. This study will help save the lives of countless premature newborns suffering from necrotising enterocolitis (NEC)

WHEAT stands for WithHolding or continuing Enteral feeds Around blood Transfusion and aims to prevent necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) in preterm infants born before 30 weeks. Necrotising Enterocolitis (NEC) is a neonatal disease associated with high risks of death and disability.

Every donation, no matter how big or small will help with getting one step closer to preventing this devastating disease in premature babies at The Royal and beyond. 


I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity to give back and to do my part in raising awareness and much needed funds for such an important cause.
