About The Panellists

Dr John Eden is a certificated reproductive endocrinologist and gynaecologist. He is a Conjoint Associate Professor at The University of New South Wales and visiting medical officer at the Royal Hospital for Women. John is Director of The Royal’s Sydney Menopause unit and is co-chair and executive committee member of the NSW Health Menopause Hub project. He is also a member of the Breast Cancer MDT at Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick and, until recently, worked at the Moree Aboriginal Health Service.

John’s research and clinical interests include managing menopause after breast cancer, infertility, early menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), amenorrhoea, osteoporosis, PMDD, hormone replacement therapy as well as herbal medicine. He has published over 150 scientific papers.

Dr Nadya Chami is a gynaecologist and menopause specialist working in The Royal’s Menopause Hub and in private practice in Sydney. She is passionate about teaching women about this important area of medicine, with sensitivity and compassion.  Nadya is a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales and Notre Dame University where she enjoys teaching future doctors about how to help women who are struggling with the menopause transition. She also teaches and supervises doctors who are training to become specialists.

Dr Anne-Marie Rees is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Senior Staff Specialist at The Royal specialising in Perinatal and Women's Mental Health. She recently led the development of NSW’s first Hormone and Mood Clinic at The Royal’s Menopause Hub. Anne-Marie is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Psychiatry and Mental Health, UNSW Faculty of Medicine and Health. She also Chairs the NSW Section of Perinatal and Infant Psychiatry for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists as well as a national peer review group for psychiatrists in Hormones and Mental Health.

Gillian Neil is the Menopause Clinical Nurse Consultant with a longstanding commitment to Women’s Health since 2009. She began her career as a Breast Care Nurse at the Royal Hospital for Women, where she developed a deep interest in menopause care—particularly in supporting women following a cancer diagnosis. Gillian’s clinical expertise and compassionate approach have made her a strong advocate for women navigating the complex challenges of breast cancer and menopause. Her work continues to shape supportive care pathways and improve outcomes for women across South Eastern Sydney.
